General Materials amount at High Grade Emissions in the upcoming update - it broke everything!

30-60 mat units floating in HGE is just ultra imbalance!
Increacing the amount by 50-100% could be enough.
10 times increased mat amount just makes all the mat gathering activities pointless.

Add. Other suggestion is to make HGE to contain different common mats of 20-30 1-4 grades and 4-8 units of the specific 5 grade.

Yeh!
3-6 was ok, 6-8 could be good, but 30-60 just break everything.
Why then we can't have the free engineering? Remove materials so no need to "grind" even for 5 minutes per year.

FDev is doing some strange decisions.

IMHO Mats for creds could solve everything.
Isn't that worse with credits so abundant? then you don't even have to engage in any of the collection gameplay loops along with expending minimal effort. I like the more mats approach.

Sorry you don't like the change OP. I love it. I hope Fdev also dropped the cost to cross trade. I have been watching a streamer and PI's and nice on foot mats are now mission rewards in the test server instance, so we should have that code soon. Only thing I have not seen yet, is the cross trading, and guardian/tharg mats being updated in some way. So far for me, perfect engineering update Fdev!

Guys, don't get me wrong - mat accessibility increase is good, but the amount is just not
Making things almost free - is just making some parts of the game pointless.
We already have broken mining, now mat collecting is broken, too easy, what's next.
OK, that's fair. I do agree that the increase was a lot larger than I would have thought it would be. It makes me wonder how much this was thought through vs. just trying to throw us a bone and hoping the complaints will stop (but even if that's the case I definitely appreciate them doing something instead of nothing!)

I've spent the past few weeks trying out different engineering and weapons combinations on a couple of combat ships. That was a LOT of materials, a lot of grinding for those materials and a lot of time. I enjoyed doing it, seeing how the different effects worked, what I personally liked and didn't like, what works for me and what doesn't.

I'll enjoy doing it even more next week when it doesn't take as long and apparently won't require as many or any relog farming before I can get to the actual ship building and using those ships.

The most loud ones, who complain about the "Grind" in the MMO game.
They don't know that bin maxing is not required to G5-fy ships.
I'm probably in a weird niche minority regards this - I don't really mind grinding HGEs (I like 21 Eridani &co where you can SCO about without relog) and I won't mind not grinding them either.. I just like flying around in the Galaxy, shrug ;')

I was doing OK gathering materials for engineering, because even with the RNG factor you still have the engineered module for good once you've upgraded it to your desired level.

But making materials much more plentiful and faster to gather means I'll be able to make more use of synthesis without having to worry too much about the time needed to replenish the required materials. I think that's a positive change because it means I will be more likely to engage with more of what the game offers.

Less grind = more playing...

It's a due change also considering that we have more modules + variants (like FSD SCO) and more ships now (even if we can still fly only one at time).

Well I'm glad. Spent the first couple of years losing my mind hunting signals, left the game for that reason.

Now the Manufactured will be solved, I'd like very much the same for the Encoded and Raw. More mats per one scan/collect. It would make the game easier. Which is good. Both for newbies and old hands. Less chore, more gameplay.

Good move FD, thank you (y)

EDIT
My God, the twitch clip looks like what I was dreaming ~10 years ago :D

Is it actually pickups or mission rewards specifically which were referred to in being increased? One person in a discord server I frequent relayed that mission payouts would be increased by 7 times minimum (so a Hydra kill wing mission could reward 70 Biotech Conductors, for example, which… well, it’s nothing to be laughed at, to say the least). But said nothing about the mat pickups.

Haven't seen anything like that, but mat mission rewards now include other types of mats, including G4 raw, other G5 manufactured like pharmaceutical isolators, and odyssey data mats for ground issions (SDP included).

Amounts may have gone up, but I don't think by 7 times minimum because I saw some ship missions rewarding 5 G5 mats.

There was one Odyssey mission person seen to offer 11 manufacturing instructions iirc.

HGE can have dramatically improved yields (see twitch clip above), & I'm told encoded emissions do too.

Drops from exploded ships seem unchanged.
