Materials in case explorers are interested.

Currently in system Col 359 Sector HA-T B6-0 5

Much fun running around in SRV. :D

Polonium, Yttrium, Arsenic, Niobium, Cadmium, Vanadium. (jumponium stuff) Mesosiderites, Chondites, a meteorite or two. No outcrop.
Probably 5 hours running around. Moved the ship 3 times. Seems a lot of spots all over.

Hello! If you're interested in sharing good locations for mats then might I point you in the direction of shared databases like eddb.io? There are tools like ED Discovery (linked from my sig, others are available) that will automatically update them from your journals as you fly.

Thanks. I downloaded EDDiscovery 8.41 and it said "This package was created with a trial version of Advanced Installer. You may use it for evaluation purposes only."
Not good!
It was suggested to use 8.3 on the EDDiscovery website. It was not available! Do you have to buy this App? And where will I download it from. Also, do I need to sign up to EDD?

8.3.3 is two versions down on the link in my sig - but 8.4.1 is grand. We had some issues with the original release of that throwing up a lot of false positives on some AV software and a new package was put together by not the normal person, hence the trial message. 8.4.2 will probably be out later today and built with the real version. EDD is free though.

You don't need to sign up to EDD - there are a couple of associated optional sign ups.

EDDN is the big central database a lot of 3rd party apps use. You don't need to sign up to that and we'll send your system and planet information there (unless you disable it in your settings, you can manually send the planet info later if you do) but we can only get market information to send if you log in the Companion API (with your ED credentials).
EDSM is an excellent tool for sharing system position data and does need signing up to and an API key adding to EDD.
EGO is a record tracking website that also needs signing up to if you want to use it from EDD.

All of these sign ups are optional - see here for more info on setting them all up.

I cant get my head around the instructions to get an API number. The instructions are a bit out of my understanding.
I have installed 8.4.2 and it is working well. The information is where I am, but I presume no one else can read it.

If you're not signed up to EDSM, syncing your travel log to it and have made your flight logs public there (they are private by default) then no, your location is not being broadcast.
