Materials Large Field Sensor

We need a Materials Sensor. It would scan from 3km to 8Km of asteroids for probability of materials depending of their Class.
To dedicate it for mining, it would replace current sensor and would take from 5% to 25% more time to scan ships (mining specialization).

Materials Large Field Sensor
Class E to A :
  • Range 4km to 8km
  • +25% to 5% to scan ships

Results of scan :
Material X :
  • In average 20% present. 500m (5%) 1km (10%) 2K (15%) 3Km (25%) 4Km (15%) 5Km - 8Km (10%)
  • ..etc.

It would easier a lot mining and make it a lot more fun/useufull !

How would that scan work mechanically? How do you initiate it? What does the feedback look/sound like?
I don't quite understand the results example.

Why would this optional(?) module interfere with the passive scan time of ships (core sensor module)?

There is materials scanner in the SRV. It could work same way for mining in asteroid fields. But the algorithm within the ship calculate the probability to found specic materials at specific distance, so you know how far you are from the materials you want to discover.

You receive a message with pourcentage of materials and for each distance the probability to found them.
Sensor/radar in front of you show asteroids with the best pourcentage of probability of materials you are looking for via an icon more or less bright or colors (you can select up to 5 materials in target filter pannel (to be developped)

It's work automatically as soon as you have selected at list one material in target filter pannel
