Please explain if we have any other mechanic bar ramming and shooting things that allows us to physically interact with our environment, or provide a means of energy transfer ????

I agree we are limited but i was thinking scanning or the comm panel like docking... and i am not saying we dont shoot things, i merely meant it would be cool to be able to do something other than shoot it and or scoop it first. This my version of Space Legs that everyone other than me and a few others want. The ability to activate, communicate or liberate things would be cool.

But it's just funny to me that the first time we are in a first contact situation we shoot things. (If you ever read Expeditionary Force books by Craig Alanson, Skippy The Magnificent has a lot to say about humans and their tendency to things like this)
