Max fuel per jump

Would like a little clarification please, rather not waste supports time if this is clearly user error.

My T-9 has a jump range of 17LY hauling 768 tonnes of cargo, 31Ly unladen

Max fuel per jump = 8T

Level 1 synthesis is showing 41.61LY fully laden, 70.90LY empty (I thought level 1 was only a 25% increase?)

The pictures below show my destination target, I am not able to perform the jump.

I had a similar issue in my DBx at Jackson's Lighthouse. It showed I had 248ly jump range, but even when I tried to jump just over 100ly it said 'Jump exceeded jump fuel use limit of 5 tons'. This was on the beta server.

Thanks, I'll log a ticket.

MODS - Sorry, this was for the Beta forum.

Neutron stars are bugged in the beta - the map is showing a range beyond what you can actually jump.

FYI max fuel per jump is how the game limits your range - it’s the error you’ll always get if you try and jump further than you can.

Yeah, I posted a support thread for this regarding neutron jumps in the beta.

I believe what the UI is doing is this: normally boosted jumps are shown as:

Rb = R * B, where:

Rb= boosted jump range
R = Range
B = boost value (1.25 for J1, 4.0 for neutron, etc)

Now, I think what the UI is doing in the beta is THIS:

Rb = R + (R * B)

In other words, it’s adding the boosted range to the normal range instead of simply displaying the normal boosted range like it’s supposed to. Your T9 pics seem to support this, and it’s why neutrons look like they are boosting to 500% in the beta but aren’t.

I think its a bug. Trying to work around it, by just selecting (only select) your destination on the gal map. If it is what i think, then the ship will make the jump.

17 + 17*1.25 = 17*2.25 = 38.35. So it's not that.

In fact, 41.61/17 = 2.44764706... which isn't even a nice round number. So goodness knows what they have done to it. :S

Well, all I know is that my Asp X has 55.45lys range in the beta, and when I neutron charged it the indicated jump range was 277.27lys, or exactly 5X instead of the 4X it should be, which follows my above equation precisely. And I've seen the exact same issue when using jumponium too, following the same erroneous math.

Maybe 777Driver's range isn't exactly 17lys, but just a tad more? Maybe the fact that his T9 is under half a tank of fuel in said picture has something to do with it?

17lys was a rough guess, I didn't have access to outfitting. I checked and the laden range was above 18.

In that case good deduction sir! Sounds like they changed something without understanding exactly how the variables were defined; whoever did it thought they needed to add 1 to all the boost values before multiplying the Optimised Mass.

I've seen weird things with Synthesis in 3.0Beta1.

A Basic FSD Synthesis (25%) ended up displaying a +100% Range and a Premium (+100%) ended up displaying some ludicrous Range. Actually performing these jumps wasn't possible, so Galaxy Map re-plotting was required, since it appeared to display the correct Ranges.

Unsure if that's related to the update issues of the right Panel in general (i.e. applying Engineer Mods or performing Repairs with AFMU has the Screen static, as it won't update to a live data feed or many changes instantly affecting it)
