maximum distance in supercruise?

sorry if this has been asked before, but i failed to find anything similar.
i've been thinking lately about something regarding maximum supercruise distance. i've never really tried, but somebody may have tried it. assuming you take enough fuel, is there maximum distance you can travel in supercruise from your main star in solar system? (yes, i know it's not possible to supercruise to another system). what happens if you're a couple of ly from star, and you log off (or server restarts (not sure if frontier are still doing those early morning restarts))? do you get ported back near star? or you stay on the same place therefore only limiting factor would be amount of fuel you're carrying?

I would not recommend logging off while in SC: The logical outcome; would be death.

It would be fuel dependent, there are a couple of places where you have to travel 500.000ls+.

You can keep going until you run out of fuel. You can never get into a different 'bubble' though, and the sky box will lever change. To reach a neighbouring star you need to high wake.

There is no problem whatsoever with logging off in SC. You will just spawn at a nearby location in normal cruise mode (stopped).

Isn't it possible to SC to another system? Is that confirmed by FD? I thought is was (though I would never give it a try).

Nothing happens, you could fill a Cutter up with 700 tonnes of fuel, switch of non essential modules etc, the ship will just keep cruising at 2001c for a few days until fuel runs out. At that point you emergency drop and go into life support.

Logging out in SC will just put you in normal space at your current location. Hyperspace distance to nearby stars never change, even though SC distance does show the destination getting closer.

It's possible to get there but the system will not load. You need to jump to the system because the hyperspace jump is a veiled loading screen.

People tried to get from one star system to another is SC. You can cover the distance, but once you're there you can't see new system. You're still in the old instance, with same skybox and system map. You have to high wake.
