Newcomer / Intro Maximum Duration For Civil Wars?

I believe it's a maximum of a week. The longest I've ever taken part in lasted five days; the shortest was two - the length of the war is related to the difference in influence between the two factions. There's also a cooldown period afterwards.

CWs for the main station (the one closest to the star) are triggered when the influence of a non-controlling faction reaches 70%. If the factions involved are squabbling over a secondary station or outpost, it will be triggered when the influence of the two factions is close for a few days. I don't know exactly how long.
 
The cool down for Civil War is 3 days. War...should be the same, but not sure on that. Most of the original cooldowns were for 25-6 days. Most of those still exist. Creating a war bring a faction over 70% (as per monkey) a Civil War is a little trickier. You have to get the faction you are supporting between 1 and 5% over the faction you desire to fight. Then keep it there until a war breaks out (this has been bugged in the past, and now, reading the forums, it appears might have been reintroduced). So in a nutshell, monkey has it correct. Just a few bits of clarification. Have fun storming the castle!
 
It's a great mechanic, isn't it? It just adds so much more to the game when you're wrestling to keep a station in the right alignment or, better yet, trying to flip a system.

I notice that the "no content!" crowd have died down - they've either been given the modhammer, moved on, or learned what the game is about. I hope it's the last option!

Actually - does the 70% trigger apply to both civil wars and invasive wars? I know it works for invasions once all other states are cleared, but I don't recall ever being involved in a civil war like that.
