Maximum fuel range?

I have just upgraded to a type 6 trader. Is that about 120 distance on a tank?

Where can I see the maximum travel distance for a tank of fuel?

I can't seem to get the map route planner to work on anything over 100 distance, and even 90 takes forever to plot.

How to work out my biggest distance I can travel on one fuel load?

Fuel use is not linear with distance traveled, it's logarithmic. For example, I can make one ~15ly jump in my Viper, or more than a dozen ~4ly jumps, with the same fuel use.

I'm sure there is a handy formula to calculate these things, or that I could work one out, but I don't have one off the top of my head.

Morbad's right, there is no easy way to calculate your max range, because two 4LYs jumps eat less than third of what one 8LYs jump would need. (just observed from the fuel bar - no numbers)

As for the route planner - try give it a time. Just hold the mouse over the route button and wait till the ship's computer is done with calculations. In a 100LY route there can be dozens of systems and hundreds of possible routes from which the computer has to choose the right one according to your prefferences.
