May Day..may day...may day?

Okay I'm out here again at the half way point heading back towards the galactic centre and ran out of fuel like a first day flyer....

I blame myself I was caught up in a memory as my ship was scanning and I just jumped...then jumped and jumped and oh!

So my options... Last time this happened it was tick tick boom - self destruct. That's not too painful. I can afford the ship loss and it is rather lonely out here. Or I log out and wait for F.D. to one day release a fuel transfer option and wait for some kind sole to find me?

I'm currently in a dwarf field NGC 6250 SECTOR XQ-T A4-1. I have no cargo hold and maybe 10 million in data from this one trip.

I'm in no rush to get back into the fray back home and maybe this little period in the doldrums is the perfect time to take a long break from ED. Logging back in when a few more updates allow me to refuel?

Well I'm undecided...The money isn't an issue. I could make everything back trading or fighting in a day. But it's all those unspoilt finds that will be lost..then again I could just hop back out here...didn't take long...

Any ideas...finger on the button...do I stay or do I go?

Fly into the dwarf, kicking, screaming and bleating as you die a rather unfortunate death. Don't self-destruct.....that's so last year, very undignified!

Annihilation it is...just being a romantic...All those lovely systems can wait for others. I do miss a good res point...p.s. just below the galactic plane is very unexplored and there are lots of beautiful systems...4..5..how to stay alive...6..7..go to he'll or go to....sound of muffled explosion.

I'm sure if there was a fuel transfer option, someone would fly out to rescue you. I sure would. Unfortunately, there isn't, and bumping a ship through frame-shift isn't possible.

If I were you I'd wait until the 1.3 beta comes out and ask one of the beta-testers if there's a refuel option. That might make it worth the 10 million credits to hang around. On the other hand, 10 million is, what, a week's worth of poking around? Mash the button and you've solved that problem.

Fuel Canisters as cargo should totally be an option. They could replenish, say... 1% of your total capacity. So if you're hauling enough, you could at least get yourself back to a scoopable star...

They could also be more susceptible to heat damage and bring that danger to gameplay as well, to offer a balance.
