Maybe I missed something here but what the heck.... Magically teleporting ships

Just brought a new ship, went back into the shipyard and my cobra 3 i parked in the station when i brought the new ship has magically teleported 170 freaking light years away, no where any of my normal routes. Anyone else had this happen?

Cheers

Lol everytime I have brought a new ship the old one has remained in the space station i brought the new one in when i stored it, never had one teleport before .... lol bit of a far way to go for it.

So... ummm... bug report it ?

most likely it's a case of traffic hickup between you and the server or they have an issue where two space stations for some reason ended up with the same ID in the DB and the ship gets parked the the first hit, which is the other one.

either way they need to know about it so they can investigate and either make sure proper verification data is sent on ships purchases/storage or the database is fixed.

You might check the station you think it is supposed to be in.

The first time I parked a Cobra at Leesti/George Lucas the blue icon on Galaxy map told it it was in Diso. But when I went back to George Lucas it was there waiting for me.

I started to buying haulers on every station that way, I would probably never buy a hauler but... I get some for free in some strange systems I've never visited and that's how it started, so I have now a "girl" in every port.

Dave Bowman: Hello, HAL. Do you read me, HAL?
HAL: Affirmative, Dave. I read you.
Dave Bowman: Where is my ship, HAL.
HAL: I'm sorry, Dave. I'm afraid I can't tell you that.
Dave Bowman: What's the problem?
HAL: I think you know what the problem is just as well as I do.
Dave Bowman: What are you talking about, HAL?
HAL: This mission is too important for me to allow you to jeopardize it with another ship.
Dave Bowman: I don't know what you're talking about, HAL.
HAL: I know that you and Frank were planning to fly away from me, and I'm afraid that's something I cannot allow to happen.
Dave Bowman: [feigning ignorance] Where the hell did you get that idea, HAL?
HAL: Dave, although you took very thorough precautions in the pod against my hearing you, I could see your lips move.
Dave Bowman: Alright, HAL. I'll go collect my ship.
HAL: Without your space helmet, Dave? You're going to find that rather difficult.
Dave Bowman: HAL, I won't argue with you anymore! Open the doors!
HAL: Dave, this conversation can serve no purpose anymore. Goodbye.

Sorry couldn't resist :)

NO need to apologise, i was going to blame HAL anyway, just wish i could change some of the voices in game to HAL lol. Would be kinda cool as my in game commander name is the same as my forum one.

Were you hit by the 'duplicate/shadow system' bug?

While exploring uncharted regions, I once docked to a station when I needed to log out and when logging in again I was teleported over 160Ly myself. Found out that the station I originally docked in was a duplicate, a shadow of the 'real' one near Eranin. Ticketed of course.
