Maybe Let Us Pay Off Our Fines?

Trying to unlock Palin.
Got a 50 CR fine at Palin Research Centre.
Palin says "FDev you! Go somewhere else to pay it off, loser".
Fly to nearest IF to pay 50 CR.
Fly back to Palin.
Palin unlocked and now I can access Contacts.
Time not respected.

I know, I know, don't get a fine then. Thanks.

Did you try at the nearest Station? I am not talking about engineering stations like Palin? There also places you can pay for all your fines.

Agree with op.
It would seem logical that if you owed Palin RS the money for a fine, that they would want you to pay them the fine.

If Palin isn't unlocked yet, his services are generally unavailable. Take it as "You want my favor but you can't even behave? Get lost!".

It would not hurt to be able to go to a relatively local station such as Obsidian Orbital to use their local legal services to pay off any fines though. I think this may already be possible.

This is irrelevant. There is an IF in the Maia system. The point is Palin RC should allow me to pay the fine that they issued. The Contacts are not, or should not be considered, part of the engineer's services.

Not quite - the situation is a common factor across ALL engineers, Palin is not unique in that regard. Whether a given system has a local I/F is moot - the relevant engineer should be covered by local general law enforcement services regardless.

I disagree - the rationale has already been spelled out by others and I see no good reason to repeat what has seemingly been ignored by some.
