I came across my first AI relic in a threat level 3 degraded emissions USS. I got mass locked by an Anaconda that jumped in with two Couriers and died in secs in my Asp with no way out.
This got me thinking about AI relics. As far as I know there is no AI in the known habited ED universe (bar SJA's, but that is another story). For it to be a relic that means that they did exist at some point. I'm wondering if FD like a magician is using distraction from what will be the real first non-human encounter in ED. Maybe the Thargoids will be pushed into human space by an an even greater foe, their own creation or some long past civilisation's errant experiment with AI or even from our own hidden history. May be the greatest threat to human kind will be AI. I think that would be quite a nice twist.
