Maybe we have a matter to discuss...

Hi CMDRS,

Flying back tu Cumeo, after a loooong period of fight into Elli system against Felicia Winter's federal agents, I managed a little pit stop to Woyo Mina system, simply because I saw the undermining bar drastically increasing out there...

Jump out, scanning, NPC and players of other factions patrolling for target are all around my radar. First interdiction, a player with an ASP from Edmund Mahon. We had a good fight, he had a good explosion... Anyway, bounty rewarded, Ok, but no bonuses from the destruction of an enemy into our own system... gasp !

Second target (And for this one, I was the target... ;) ), intercepted by a federal agent from Hudson, and, in these cases, I always submit, don't have time to loose for trying to escape. He intercepted me ? I'm his man, fight !

Eagle vs Anaconda combat fitted, I let you guess the result... Never mind... But, THIS is the real problem :
  • Unauthorized interdiction : 300 bounty CR on your head
  • Opening fire on a clean target into a determined system : 600 more bounty CR on your head again
  • You are clearly identified as a WANTED target for system security and mercenaries all around you...

This eagle has NONE of these case for this situation : He attacked me, but not declared as an attacker and still clean, he interdicted me, but not any kind of bounty for him. Destroy it, and be happy to leaving the combat area without fine for you...

Mmmmh... Is NPCs have diplomatic immunity ? Or is it simply a fantastic but, a heavy haired troll maker like bug, that need to be corrected ASAP ???

Personnaly, I've just came back with nearby 2 millions of CR bounty on my head for the same situation into Winter's space, Can I become a NPC too ? I need this immunity ! At once !!!
:)

Cheers

I wish people would actually put the topic of a thread in the title, rather than just meaningless click-bait nonsense. There should really be a forum rule against this.

Pretty much everything powerplay agents do is illegal. It's probably why we're not officially rewarded in any capacity, proceeds for contribution have to get laundered out weekly through off-the-books funbux like merits and CC and all that malarkey.

This bothers me as well, but I think the "diplomatic immunity" for NPC's is for a few reasons:

1. to discourage un-affiliated bounty hunters from hogging the spawns.
2. To ensure that bounties are acquired by commanders for killing PP targets in systems they are not controlling/exploiting.
3. Reinforcing point 2, ensuring players from foreign powers obtain bounties means that there is an incentive to kill them. However allowing us to gain merits by killing player ships is open to the good old free sidewinder and thereby exploitable.

So while I agree with you, we should get something for NPC's within our powers territory that we kill, it shouldn't be in the form of bounties. We should DEFINITELY get merits though.

@Aidan Patrick : Right ! A bounty, for some reasons is maybe not the better solution, but gain a +1 merit for destroying these targets is IMHO, the very better solution about this problem.
Only +1 encourage players to hunt on other factions systems, where you gain +15 merits, BUT let you gain a little bit more when you decide to make your way of discouraging other players to undermine your own systems...
@bitstorm : Yes it is, for sure.
@Ving : Stop moaning please, we're not here to have military like communications between us, and a little humourously topic -And yes it is totally subjective- will not make a continuum fault is space time... We're talking about a game, no more, and no less. We have lots more real problems IRL to worry about... Over

Ah yes, 'click-baiting'. Full time occupation for some.
