McGrews Prospecting Chart (SRV material locations)

I would like to start a community led thread, hopefully a sticky to help those in need of materials mainly for Explorers hence the start system as Deciat, although in future i would like to catalogue all materials available in Deciat & nearby systems (if required) to hopefully complete the full list so CMDR's know exactly where to look close to Farseer Inc

Please feel free to post below your findings to help fellow CMDR's on their upgrades and i will update the table, but please only confirmed prospecting as this is a community led initiative lets not send people on wild goose chases, if no-one is interested fair play ill remove the list.

I have a more extensive list of planets and materials at home and have just put in the ones i can confirm 100% until i get home, also i would like to offer credit to other CMDR's rather than a full list of my findings, as there are only a few Rares missing from my list at home.

I have a feeling that every material can be found in Deciat, failing that; We are looking for the CLOSEST system to Deciat for engineers materials so everyone can prospect within a 20 LY radius.

Once again hopefully we can all pull together a great resource / database here.

Thanks for doing this can I just ask where you are finding yttrium on deciat 7B is it in meteor hit sites or a specific type of coloured ground? As I have just spent about three hours on there and couldn't find any.

look near craters, and search for metallic meteorite fragments to shoot, there is usually three within 100 m of each other, once you have found 2/3 Yttrium i found jumping back into your ship and heading to the next crater more productive than trying to find the next metallic meteortite signal on the wave scanner.

i didn't go anywhere in specific just near craters, i have been to three different sites on the planet as the game crashed and kept booting me back into orbit meaning i landed at different points each time.

Thanks for the input, if we can try and find closer systems to Deciat it will really help the cause.

Might be of assistance:

Deciat 7c Selenium, Ruthenium, Germanium
Deciat 9a Germanium
Deciat 8a Selenium, Yttrium, Germanium
Deciat 7a Vanadium, Niobium, Yttrium

awesome i knew Deciat was a mine of good stuff, just need to check the other landable planets :) we might even be able to complete the list with Deciat

Have some + Rep

This is a great idea, and very helpful. For the materials marked in yellow where you’d like a closer source, I might do some prospecting within a few day in systems close by to Deciat to see if I can find anything closer for those mats.

We could maybe post up a list of the man made materials us explorers need to and the best places close to Deciat to find them as well? Stuff like Chemical Manipulators and such.

I would have done some more but the locals weren't that friendly and after a couple of near misses (hull less than 50%) - they finally got me ( my fault for collecting salvaged materials (Gold, palladium etc).) Not much hope in a lightly armed Sidey against a Cobra MK3 when you are 20m off the ground.

my vision is obtaining everything in a single system if possible, but once you have prospected the planets nearby let me know! i've yet to check the high metal content planets close to the Deciat star.

For the other materials there is a High RES point along with 2 standard RES locations (chemical manipulators & distilleries are all there) and there is plenty of Wake scanning to be had at the nav beacon / stations.

i couldn't resist a stash of palladium i found and wondered why i was being interdicted, luckily i didn't stick around to find out :)

I’m still working on getting my first lvl 4 FSD mod, all I need now are the 3 chemical distilleries. I spent most of last night in my Vulture sitting at a nav beacon in the Bundis system (near Shinrarta Dezra) shooting at cargo vessels. Bundis is an anarchy system so every ship is lawless and fair game for destroying. It kind of surprised me how fast a Vulture can pop a T7, lol. Every time I’d blow a ship up they would bloom like a flower of space debris and white dots signifying either materials or canisters. Both chemical distilleries and manipulators seem to be quite rare, by the end of the night (after a couple of hours) I only had 2 of the distilleries, so I need to get one more yet. But then I’ll need even more after that to grind my way up to level 5 access, where I can start it all over again with chemical manipulators! Honestly once I get a level 4 FSD mod on my Asp I’ll probably head out exploring to gather data for that level 5 access. I think it will actually be faster that way.

So anarchy nav beacons are a good place to get chemical distilleries and manipulators, and Bundis isn’t too far from Deciat. I’ll look tonight to see if there is an anarchy system closer.

Oh, I'll be updating, just figured copy I'd post my current notes on materials. I'm sure in a week or 2 there will be some online tool to help find all engineer ingredients, but until then, this post is exactly what we all need.

Thanks for posting!

man, I have a ton of chemical distilleries and manipulators. I think I got them at a High RES in or near Wyrd.

This is what we've been doing since 2.0 dropped.... And it's NOT just Jumponium mats :D

Nice to have a thread dedicated to a couple of the closer systems to an engineer or two...

Here's a tool that'll help you find what you are looking for ANYWHERE: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet...ffvuNAcd8G6W5d7061UNAjslU/edit#gid=1276615159
.
Searchable via your current coordinates... the nearest DWE coordinate... or multiple material elements by name.
.
Or if you want to look through the monster... use this one <and go to the 'Log' tab>
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1LgMaX9n6Yp8DQKq-u-eF1HH2xQ-_aUgSfSJna6mTuLs/edit#gid=0
.
As always, if you have additional data that you might like to add, please contact the Rock Rats at #prospectors on Fleet Comm Discord! < https://discordapp.com/invite/0hKG2qb9ODixa7Iz >

Gawd that sounds tedious. Maybe I'll just stay in the black forever and not bother with bothering these engineer types.

Hi all! Sorry for stupid question- But where can i find mechanical scrap and Electrochemical arrays?

Very good thread

Honestly it is tedious, no lie. BUT, I really want that level FSD mod for my Asp, so I'll put in the work to get it. I just may do it slower than I'd like to because I'm finding it hard to log in at night now and am instead starting to play other games not Elite.

Last night I finally got enough mats to make one level 4 FSD upgrade to my Asp, so after handing all of my work over and pressing the generate button, I ended up with.......an 8% boost to my jump range........[blah]
