PvP MC’s with Special vs Lasers against shields?

Does a MC with Incendiary Special Effect work as good against shields as a laser of equivalent size?
If so can I place them on multiple MC’s for more effect?

I think Incendiary MCs melt shields better than lasers and yes the damage stacks.

MC: limited ammo
Lasers: feeble vs hull / I haven't tried corrosive MC (small turret) in combo with Lasers (huge fixed) on hull, but that might work well.

Try Aconda with just MC's... OC them all.

Put corrosive on Huge, as thanks to lower ROF than smaller MC's, before all other MC's ammo dry up, you will still have bit left here, means that corrosive special is always active for rest of MC's. Putting corrosive otherwise on any smaller size, will cause run of ammo before rest of MC's as well.

3 large with Incediary, they will melt shields with thier combined ROF, but they generate a lot of heat, so using more than 3 of Incediary is not really viable to do so unless someone likes using only a short bursts, or getting cooked alive.

2 mediums with emmisive, as stated before, more Incediary will overcook. And emmisive is kinetic, so works better against hulls, and makes them highlighted all time, so no more lock off if they pop a heat sink or went silent.

Small can be autoloaders or emmisive too, depends on taste...

So much fun I used to had with such loadout. It was first conda bulid I did afta RNgneers came up, for this ship. Still using it today, with current system.

On the Conda, I use both. 2 x class two beams, the rest incendiary MC, though with a class one corrosive one.

Given that class one have highest ROF of all MC's, dont you find bit annoying to have run of ammo first on it, in that class one? Huge class dont lose much bits of DPS, to have corrosive on it (compared to auto-loader or incedairy), and even with -20% ammo penalty, it cannot run of ammo first before rest of MC's... Meaning that corrosive is always on active, so thats basicly keeps DPS as high as possible, for any MC's that still have ammo, to have them always work under corrosive.

I keep to see the argument on these forums quite often: "put corrosive on smallest, otherwise its wrong/waste of Hardpoint".... But its so wrong, given that ammo on smallest HP will run out, while rest of MC's still fire, with few magazines left, before running dry completly.

Best MC's bulid is one that uses all avilable effects to thier fullest, while keeping mix of kinetic/thermal dps, to have equally melts both type of defences.

With regard to the MC conda:

Make the small MCs corrosive and emissive high-cap.

Make the large and medium MCs all OC incendiary.

Make the huge MC OC autoloader.

What do you think of all of that, but a huge beam OC thermal vent instead? I find all of the reticals floating around confusing and not quite sure which one is fixed for the huge MC.

If you are taking a huge beam, instead of an MC, you have significant thermic damage already, so should probably use something other than incendiary (like autoloader) on the large MCs.

If this is for pvp.. won't the resistance be leveled so incendiary will be pointless?

My guess is it all comes down to who and what you are fighting. Take your typical 13th legion FDL for instance. Weak to thermal (They usually have 5-6 boosters with high raw MJ (3500-4000) and weak thermal resistance. So a huge mc with incendiary ammo wreaks havoc on their shields.

Against a bi-weave FDL hybrid or a hull tank ship, I would go with a huge corrosive
