Mechanic cannot access habitat or machinery

Hi there,

I just started playing and I'm getting really frustrated at constant error messages about mechanics not being able to access habitats, or even get to solar panels etc. The habitat has a gate that I can see keepers using with no issue but mechanic "cannot access" and won't maintain the barrier. The solar panel broke down from not being maintained- it's connected to the path, and both areas are in a work zone that I've allocated the mechanic to. I tried deleting and replacing habitat gate, I've tried moving the solar panel, I don't know what else to do- it all looks like it should work. I also tried replacing the mechanic.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

I have never had luck with mechanics in workzones, they will simply refuse to maintain anything the moment they get tired and will just wander around in circles around the zoo before returning to a staff room. I just have enough mechanics in the zoo to repair everything without the need of a work zone.
