Mechanic won't move... stopped in position and he's not happy.

I found this poor guy stuck in the park entrance gates initially, kind of jumping around. It was strange. I picked him up and moved him into the park... only to find him standing in the same position, nothing to do, and "kicking the dirt" like he's bored and upset. I've tried to move him all over, and he just keeps standing and kicking.

A while before this happened, I went into scenario editor and added some spawn points. Came back in and deleted some paths, moved around the entrance. When I resumed the game, there was a hoard of guests coming in that gate, momentarily trapped. They all cleared out, except that mechanic. This probably has something to do with why he's stuck (and kicking), but how do I fix it?

I also tried to fire him and put him next to the exit; no go. Then I tried to re-hire him, same thing.

I searched around and the closest situation I could find was a mechanic stuck while going to fix a ride. To my best understand, my guy wasn't going to fix a ride...

^Thank you. I played around with the game including closing the park briefly... and the poor guy found his way out. I didn't see him go, but he was gone a few minutes later.
 
I had this happen to two of my mechanics last night. I tried moving them, and nothing. Looked at their work schedule, and had them "assigned" to a coaster that I removed due to constant breaking. Apparently they were sad, and didn't know what to do with their time. Set them to free roaming and they went about their day.
 
I had this behaviour because it was caused by him wanting to fix something that is out of bounds for him (not connected through paths or blocked by barriers).

Only with me, the status was "repairing vandalised object". Yours is "idling" so it doesn't appear to be heading to fix something.
