Medium ship with ventral hardpoints?

I'm currently using a Krait Mk2 as a ground-attack ship and I've had some, erm, "issues" with it.

What other options do I have for a tough medium-pad ship with useful hardpoints on the underside?

There's the FdL, I suppose, but I'm not keen on those at the best of times.
Any of the fed' piggies have dorsal hardpoints?

FGS is a tough one to beat.

Dropship is fine as well, even 2 side hardpoints for turrets.

Challenger has 3x mediums on the bottom, and the Dropship/Gunship/Assault ship all have 2x med 1x large on the bottom, although the Gunship and Dropship have another two mediums that are side-mounted and will probably work for you.

Those will probably be your best options.

If you want point defense coverage on top though, don't look at the Assault Ship or Dropship, all utility slots are on the bottom. Gunship and the Alliance ships have more all-round coverage.

Saw a YT vid where a CMDR showcased his Ground Attack FGS, was extremelt effective. Mix of Dumbfire Missiles and Fix Beams.

It's a small ship, but the DBX sounds like it would work for the set up you are after.

DBS to go helicopter assault or gunship for heavier firepower. Works nice in MC.

FDS has all 4 utilities on the bottom too. Good for point defense. And it's faster than gunship.

I went for a Gunship ground assault ship, 'Airwolf'.
