Medium sized Carnivores forming packs?

We have proof of Mapusaurus being at least occasionnal pack hunters since we found 7/8 of them together. It's a really close relative of Giganotosaurus from the same region, I'm talking T.rex size here. Many depictions of Giga hunting in packs big sauropods are actually Mapusaurus.

that depends on Frontier. They will continuously update the game and expand upon it. Adding Mapusaurus is not far fetched. But i think in the first case we'll see Acrocanthosaurus as a large pack-hunting carnivore.

I can tell you however that Mapusaurus, despite being in the same tribe as Giganotosaurus, looks very different. Physically its smaller than the Giga. The individual found was estimated to be 10.2m long. Bones were found that indicated a individual that could be around 12m. Check the wikipedia page because it goes extremely well in detail on Mapusaurus's differences to the Giganotosaurus.

I thought it wouldnt be the best addition to the game, but im confident that all the details mentioned, it would be different enough to warrant addition to JWE.

Very interesting information, thank you. I think if more large carnivores will be added that I first prefer Carcharodontosaurus and Acrocanthosaurus over Mapusaurus. I am already happy some nice medium-sized carnivores get added in the Fallen kingdom DLC. I really can't wait what FD have in future for JW:E.

Oh okay, I would like diversity in pack numbers and behavior for different species as you said.
I don't think we will have small families since well, every dinosaur appears to be female. Unless
if older female carnivore dinosaurs were smart and motherly enough to ''adopt'' younger members
of it's species. I would like to see these families of dinosaurs being able to form various types of
packs besides raptors:
Allosauridae
Carcharodontosauridae
Abelisauridae
Tyrannosauridae
