Great read. These guys are the true pioneers and the role models for us all.

Also good points about what is left to add to exploration.

I hope people are inspired by that post and buy the game

That was a good article.

There should be stations in game named after some of the most intrepid among us. I'm not going to name names, but, lets say, the first to Sag A, the first across the Galaxy. I'm not sure where to draw the line, but FDev could add a few stations named for the boldest explorers.

I dunno. I think having documented the effort somewhere and receiving the recognition among the playerbase in the first instance is reward enough. (Well, myself I wouldn't want anything in game named after me. Not until I'm dead in real life, anyway. ;))

Great article. Kotaku have been making quite a few of them on the exploration side of the game, so it's very encouraging.

I totally get the sentiment. The problem is, in my opinion, to make something live takes time. The game's been up for mere months, so the idea of having Erimus station (for example) seems premature. We'd certainly be all clamoring for our own bit of immortality in similar ways, but when it's all said and done and we look back, we'll realize it all came far too soon.

Fortunately, thanks to these forums and Youtube, these intrepid explorers DO get their immortality in other ways. :)
