When PB drops on Friday, will there be anyway to select who to play with?

I know in the final release there has been talk of groups etc, but for the PB will the functionality to stay in the same instance as a specified player be live?

Assuming it's the same as Alpha 4 - nope.

Other than note which server you are on, tell your mate(s) to get on that one (reload until it pop up) and rendezvous at a pre-arranged spot. Sometimes you'll be in the same instance, sometimes not. Sometimes one of you can see the other, but not vice-versa.
