Meh - lost another Trade Route to the online sharers.

Oh well, another of my trade routes has finally been outed. It is getting increasingly hard to find systems that have not been scanned & posted. So much for the weeks I spent finding routes - at least I enjoyed searching them out in the first place which will be an increasing rare event given that the trade system is so static. Some weekly random variations in pricings would be most welcome.

Which route was it you lost...?

:D

Check back in a couple of days. Usually things look different then. And if not, there is still so much out there. Every time I think things can't get any better I run into another surprise.

I've been housed in the same system since January. It has multiple one to two jump routes that are profitable and involve a variety of commodities. What I've found is that when one dries up I can focus on another then after a couple of days switch back and be fine. I've seen some players hanging around but certainly not as many as some of the more popular systems.

Just a nice 2 jump there & back, with short cruises. About 3K/ton for roundtrip of 12 minutes. Not uber but nice & quiet. I have always played in open so I value my privacy when trading :)

fixable easily by not having a free trade system. Space Trucker duties for general goods would be something a station would have long term supplier contracts for. Independent outfits (since we can't get hired by any companies) would handle odd-job trade runs or specialty items / requests or very temporary needs that otherwise wouldn't make sense to setup a supply contract for. Having trade work the way it does currently just makes no sense.

Get rid of independents (players) doing free trade and you get rid of the issue of solo/private traders ghost affecting your gameplay. As an added benefit, it also fixes trade's other issues by making it less predictable and less boring (no more repeating the same route over and over mindlessly).

Sorry; not DB's design...As a Solo player, I'm quite pleased.

How dare those awful, awful other people play your game. Really, as far as awful things that happen go, I honestly don't see how this one is all -that- bad, just think of it is a way to break up the monotony.

Yes! Trading needs to be more dynamic. I've been housed at the same station since January bringing tons of supplies and I would think commerce to the station. I would like to think this would earn me special supply missions or contracts with more money and rep involved. For example...what if some high-end restaurant in the station needs a particular kind of liquor or foodstuff at the last minute and it's 100's of ly's away? Sign me up and I'll grab it for you. Maybe that will earn me a long term supply contract in which I have to bring in a certain amount of particular supplies over a period of time to fulfill.

I'm happy with the route I've found, 1.5k and 1.3k there and back, 4 jumps, gets me a fair amount of credits, around a 10 minute run id say.
Trucking is boring tho, can't wait till I've earned enough to fully kit out my clipper, might go check some of the res sites then.

That's if I don't die of boredom first!

Yeah, I'm sure we Solo players can think ways to break up Open players monotony; but if we're smart we don't do we...

There ya go Darth E.; no reason to ruin trade for independent traders...

I was lucky to find a trade route that was generously profitable and didn't involve slaves. Plus, plenty of wannabe pirates to bash should they want to get their hands on my booty. :D Lots to do there, basically.
