Not sure if that will be a sign of issues for other online games (like ED perhaps?), but this is the first evidence i think i've seen of that '30%' reduction in performance being an issue etc.

From what i've seen to date i would rather believe that they messed something up and used this bugs as excuse than that actual performance drop caused such issues TBH.

Also, with how amazon servers work, ED is completely safe IMO. Worst case it will mean less profitable deal for amazon (more hardware used for the same task) and eventually a price increase for frontier.
One thing that may actually happen is some service disruption when they apply patches, but this is inevitable and IMO not an issue at all.
