I noticed a lot of stuttering in my game tonight and had to close everything else I had running. That still didn't help so eventually I looked at the processes and saw that EDLauncher.exe was consuming 25% of my memory - more than Elite itself. I shut it down and that made things a lot better. If you're running out of memory, check on EDLauncher.

I've been suffering random 3 stutters and bugsplat's for a while now, can happen when in the menu or in-game at any point, sometimes multiple times during a gaming session, I always post the bugsplat's just in case they are of use but will certainly try your suggestion of closing the launcher - who knows it may stop the bugsplat's -Optimistic I know but you never know...
