Men this sucks

At the moment, my gameplay is all the same.

Buy stuff- sell stuff and at the moment i have ~ 3000 cr i ALWAYS get bashed by a pirate who drops me out of supercruise.

If i kill him, my hull is like 25%, i get 100 credits for kill and a 1000 credit bill.
But most time, i die, because he use always same tactic which make them win. Fly away from me faster as i ever can, then turn around and kill me with 10 hits.

Then game starts with 400 credits or less - and i start again till i have some 2000-3000 cr just to get killed in a 10 sec match.

GREAT GAME !

Don't forget to write!

On a more constructive note. If you put all your energy in engines, boost out in a straight line and turn off flight assist while boosting you will survive any interdiction.

I made 400k credits without dying once & I started yesterday. I dunno what you're doing. But you're doing it wrong.

Just set all pips to engine, and boost you way out of it. Don't fight them yet. It very easy to out run interdictions.

1st. What DoctorDanny said is true.

2nd. Try something different? Maybe try not to treat this as Demo but as a Beta, look for things, try new things. Be creative, try to break things and report your findings.

Don't fight the muggers. Haven't you seen Ghost? Run.

There will be complete mismatches in ED. If you are in the starter ship with no upgrades run.

You can always start again from square one. Run delivery missions, don't get in fights and you'll make cash hand over fist.

the worst i've had so far is 67% shields in a hauler before i got away and that was only because i didnt have 4 pips to the engines.

I had 4 cobras ambush me and was dead from missile hits in seconds, long before the super-cruise even cooled down.

That was the LP98-132 system though, it has lots of cargo traps.

I think insurance should cover cargo or an option to add insurance to a purchase, there's a lot of these posts and it is really annoying when you lose hours or even days of trading in a instant.

You could just run away... :) No need to fight interdictions ever...

Just keep at it and practice.

Anarchy systems are meant to be very dangerous.

In the original game an anarchy system would usually leave a new player dead and thus were to be avoided. This is how the game is meant to be.

New players need to study the galaxy map and trade between safe systems in order to minimise piracy threats.

Cargo insurance would be detrimental to the game because it would take the risk out. Risk = excitement.

If you pretty much die all the time who in their right mind would insure your cargo anyway?

It's kind of amazing how so many players have such different experiences...

So far in my lil old sidewinder, I've managed to accrue 30k credits, never been attacked or destroyed, and as yet, I haven't even deployed my weapons. (Although my stats reckon I've got 7 kills to my name. Need to ticket that one).

Lots of posts on the internet, it must be a problem then.

There are also lots of posts that say it is easy because anything can be out run.

Show me a video of someone getting hit by rockets before their super cruise cooled down and we can discuss it. I suspect I might be able to suggest something they could of done differently.

Hello commander. A couple of suggestions.

1. You can use the ingame trading map overlay to recognize and plan profitable trade runs between systems. Here is a quick guide that might help.
https://imgur.com/a/9wdOH

2. If you are using a starter ship and are a little inexperienced in combat, a valid strategy when interdicted by dirty pirate scum is simply to...haul (‿ˠ‿)...:D

Get your engine pips to 4, orient yourself away from your "happy campers" and boost to max speed while toggling the flight mode to assist OFF (so that you can retain the speed you are flying at). As soon as you make some distance, engage your FSD and run away. Remember, you don't need to align to the station that you are flying at...you can do that after getting into FS again.

Here is a video that demonstrates that.

Hope that helps, cheers...and remember that practice makes perfect, you will get much, much better at it. Fast. :D

You might want to try the missions on the bulletin board if trade runs aren't your thing. You could also go to a Navigation Beacon near a primary star, look for a wanted ship, kill it and take the bounty and/or the cargo it drops and sell it on the black market (like at the Chango starport in IBOOTIS).

Be warned though, if you take the cargo from a wanted ship you just killed/chased, you're hauling stolen cargo and that's illegal so you want to avoid scans from Federal ships.

For the interdictions, as soon you're out of super cruise after an interdiction put all the power into your engines, boost a few times by pressing TAB, try to spin around a little to avoid getting hit and when frameshift is back online go back into super cruise to shake off your persuader(s).

It's kind of a waste to put down a game when you've only tried one way of playing it ;).
