Newcomer / Intro Mercenary edition, restart progress and eagle?

Just a short question before I start playing the game. As I understand, it is possible to restart progress (sort of wipe the save game)...

If I do so, am I going to lose my bonus Eagle ship after the wiping of save game?

Nope.

You will start off again with the same bonuses you acquired depending on your backing.
