Hello, I was wondering if I bought the mercenary edition of Elite Dangerous if I'd have my copy this year. It says Availability: Coming 2014, but I still want to be sure.

Not really.
The game being complete is independent of whether or not you bought the Mercenary edition.
If you do purchase the beta access though you will be able to play it until the release and score a copy of Mercenary on the house.
FD has not announced officially any delays so Q4 is still the release date.
