Merch store

So far as I can tell, there is no official merch store. I wonder if there is any interest in T-shirts, hoodies, baseball caps, and the obligatory Hutton mug. And how about some desktop wallpaper.

What say you, is this a silly idea, or would you like to see some official merch?

Accessed from the launch screen.

I do agree that the merchandise is very limited. For such a cool game with eye-popping visuals it should be crazy easy to make a wide assortment of really cool merchandise.

Thank you, I had no idea there was a store, I will check it out.

That's no doubt because you were used to elitedangerous(dot)com website rather than the frontier store {frontierstore(dot)net}.

PSA - there was a lot more merch but it (like many other features on E D) appears unloved and the range has withered.

True. But in their defense, running a store and holding stock for it does cost money. If sales are not sufficient, then doing that is just not worth it. Now, how many of us here, who are much more invested into the game than the average player, actually has bought RL merch for the game? I know I have not.

So for the store I can very much see why it has withered.

I get the impression that they have offloaded the merch to the merchandise designer pages - I assume outsourced (not used it)?

Long time ago I bought an "Elite Ranking Cap" (baseball cap thingie) from the store but it was "too wee fur ma heid Jimmie" so returned for refund. Anything else I felt like buying was always out of stock.

I made my own Elite Dangerous T-shirt for my daughter last year because I didn't like what was in the store. She really liked it and her friends thought it was pretty cool.

Ya, I know copyrights and all. wasn't selling it, just making a one-off.
