Is there any chance you guys/gals could consider merging some of the optional modules. Currently there are some modules that are just a must have, and the number keeps growing, wich severely limits your choices when building a support, scavenge, or exploration ship. None of these modules really provide any form of combat edge, or unbalance anything in any way, they are mostly convenience, or utility, so I dont see why merging some of them would create any type of noticeable negative effect on balance. I mean its the future, it seems unlikely, technology hasnt reached a point, where people cant integrate several modules into a single one, in order to streamline/simplify, or just give you more space for other things on your ship. I wrote some examples/suggestions below of what I mean.
Limpets
There so many that perform similar functions, wich the function it will perform can be decided by the target you have selected, rather than having multiple controllers. For example the basic collecter limpet controller can take over hatch breaker, and hacking functions. While the decontamination limpet can be merged with the research so it effectively does decontamination/repair/scrape samples.
Kill Warrant/Wake/Manifest scanners
A single scanner that does all 3 things might be unrealistic, but merging kill warrant and manifest into one is doable, without it sounding insane.
Discovery/Surface Scanner
Instead of offering them seperately, you should offer a higher grade merged version, cheap version just does discovery, expensive does both.
Autodock/Cruise Control
I dont think theres much to say about merging these, we live in 2020 and Tesla's building cars that drive themselves. I doubt writing a single software to add to your ship that offers both of these functions is impossible to make in a future where we are exploring space. I mean my 1999 Honda Civic had cruise control, why cant a space ship have both integrated into one.
I hope you guys/gals consider this, some of these modules are pretty convenient, but see little to no use by players, due to size constraints, and priority other modules have when building an efficient ship, leaving most of these modules gathering dust in spaceports.
