Merge utility modules

Is there any chance you guys/gals could consider merging some of the optional modules. Currently there are some modules that are just a must have, and the number keeps growing, wich severely limits your choices when building a support, scavenge, or exploration ship. None of these modules really provide any form of combat edge, or unbalance anything in any way, they are mostly convenience, or utility, so I dont see why merging some of them would create any type of noticeable negative effect on balance. I mean its the future, it seems unlikely, technology hasnt reached a point, where people cant integrate several modules into a single one, in order to streamline/simplify, or just give you more space for other things on your ship. I wrote some examples/suggestions below of what I mean.

Limpets
There so many that perform similar functions, wich the function it will perform can be decided by the target you have selected, rather than having multiple controllers. For example the basic collecter limpet controller can take over hatch breaker, and hacking functions. While the decontamination limpet can be merged with the research so it effectively does decontamination/repair/scrape samples.

Kill Warrant/Wake/Manifest scanners
A single scanner that does all 3 things might be unrealistic, but merging kill warrant and manifest into one is doable, without it sounding insane.

Discovery/Surface Scanner
Instead of offering them seperately, you should offer a higher grade merged version, cheap version just does discovery, expensive does both.

Autodock/Cruise Control

I dont think theres much to say about merging these, we live in 2020 and Tesla's building cars that drive themselves. I doubt writing a single software to add to your ship that offers both of these functions is impossible to make in a future where we are exploring space. I mean my 1999 Honda Civic had cruise control, why cant a space ship have both integrated into one.

I hope you guys/gals consider this, some of these modules are pretty convenient, but see little to no use by players, due to size constraints, and priority other modules have when building an efficient ship, leaving most of these modules gathering dust in spaceports.

Limpets, been asked to death, look up my revsmp idea.

Since the surface scanner is a probe launcher now, never understood why it wasnt promoted to a utility slot.

Docking and cruise control should be core ship functions at this point.

Agree.

Specially in order to give Small and Medium ships more lifespan and purpose on "end game" than just saving money to buy that big ship that allows you to really have enough slots to truly be able to be "a bit" multiporpuse or a full purpose.

Right now most small ships and medium ships are barely unable to really be a single purpose beyond combat. It is nice to fly your Python for battle on the hub, but if you get your AspX for some deep space exploration you should be able to fit repair drones, AFMU, collector limpets, various scanners, cargo racks, fuel scoop, vehicle hangar.... and not even some extra space for a shield booster or hull reinforcement? We're supposed to go to meet the unexpected... There is no "Oh, aliens, I'll go back 10.000yl back to change to my fighting gear" xD There is no need to go Rambo but sometimes feels like there is not even space for the shield generator.

Beyond merging or eliminating unnecesary slot using modules (automated assists...), It would be nice if unused hardpoints for weapons could be used for additional utility mounts. (so that way an explorar can go really go prepared will all the surviving and researching tools, while having less (or no) weapons. Some freedom of customization is very welcomed.

Better slots optimization gives a purpose and good sense of having various ships of different sizes specialilly equiped, fully enginereed, with custom livery... (And is susposedly the point of being able to buy many a lot of ships...) Than just "I'll retrofit the conda for exploration, later for mining, later for combat", or "this is my combat conda, this is my mining conda, this is my exploring conda".

I guess Odissey will bring some changes. Personally as space legs will bring some interesting new exploration, I'd like nice dedicated exploration modules... but of course... place to put them... and not in a Imperial Destroyer... but in a explorer ship x'D And no... I'm not refering to the "Changing Armor for being able to land on foot module". xD
