Powerplay Merits don't add up

Hi,

I'm aligned in PP with A Lavigny-Duval and yesterday I had a total of 10050 merits. Today I look and I have 4823 merits. Now I'm not saying I'm a genius at maths but surely I should have 5025 merits this morning now the new cycle has begun.

I'm still rated at 5 so I don't think I've lost out on anything apart from a few hundred merits but has anyone else seen this? Am I just missing something?

To me this looks like correct result, if you had 10k merits, result after cycle will be about 5k.

I dont think that "missing" 200 is a big deal anyway...

"Last week's merits" are actually from the last 4 weeks.

If your bigger contribution was from 4 weeks ago, it then dissapeared and you were left with contributions from two less intensive weeks, for example, which resulted in less than half.

Is the drop in merits a sum of previous cycles, not just the preceeding one? Therefore it would not be a simple halving of your total.

Put it another way.

If you started at 0 merits last cycle, then earned all 10050 merits in that cycle, you should indeed have ended up with 5025. If you had merits over from previous cycles then you would have a proportion of those removed too.
