Powerplay Merits Stripped?

Just curious I noticed I had 80 merits last week and this week I have 50??? Just curious if its possible to be stripped of merits for accidently shooting someone your faction doesn't want you to shoot?

At the end of the PowerPlay cycle (Thursday 7am) your rating is calculated based on the number of merits you had and you get 1/2 your merits back. This is the normal process for everyone doing PowerPlay.

another question, please,

I notice my rank is 100% and labeled as cadet with the federation but how do I increase from there. Its been pegged at 100 for a while now and not sure how to push past.

So at which point does your rating go up. When you tag 100 or when your avg meets it after the new cycle begins?

Yes, the first rating increase is 100 merits. If you had 100 merits at the end of the week you would now be at rating 2 instead of 1. It's based on your total merits, not just the ones you earned this week. See the powerplay screen to see what the benefits are etc.

You have to do a particular mission to go to the next rank. Unfortunately, it's not obvious which mission but look for the word NAVY in the description.

ok. I'll do that. Thank you for the help. I wish this game was a little more informative. I do really like the lasting consequences. Gives the game more meaning and attention. I do not enjoy losing all my kills in combat zone but when you re-spawn all ammo spent on the those ships is not replaced. If your going to erase points shouldn't you erase the cost of earning them?

Well, it's all a part of risk and reward. After you've killed someone you have a choice whether to keep playing or dock to receive your bounty. The risk to keep playing is you will lose the reward if you die. It sounds reasonable to me.

I'm not sure why you have an issue with ammo costs. Again, it's part of the risk you take when firing at someone. You might kill them or they might kill you. Also, you don't have to spend any money on ammo if you have pulse / burst / beam weapons.
