Messed about now game won't launch in Rift CV1

Hey, Happy new year guys.

So I've been playing Elite for the last couple of weeks after 18 months away in my new Rift for the past couple of weeks.

I got the key for Oculus Home and have been running it fine with no problems.

Today I started fooling about with EDFX to see what it looked like but now I can't get the game to boot into my HMD. If I load through Oculus Home I get the Elite Dangerous is loading please wait in the HMD but the the game boots to my main monitor.

IN the graphic options in the game there is no HMD option in 3D, just SBS and Anaglyph.

I have uninstalled and reinstalled, and deleted the Frontier folders in AppData but no joy, I must be missing something. Anybody got any ideas how I can get it back in VR? I'm guessing EDFX changed something somewhere. I have uninstalled that too though?

Thoughts greatly appreciated.

Paul

Hmm, there must be a registry key or settings file that is still left somewhere, and ED is still finding it even after a reinstall.

Does EDFX have a support forum?

Agreed, it's obviously finding something left behind somewhere. It's got a bit weirder though, I have s Steam key for it so I installed it through there too - so my understanding is the game files are in a different location, so I now have two installs of it, but as far as I can see it still uses the bindings files etc in my %AppData - however, Steam launches the game fine in VR (as long as I have SteamVR loaded first, it then passes it through to Home, I get the loading logo in Home and then it works.

Try the same thing with the Oculus Home version and it boots to my monitor with no HMD support. I;ve uninstalled Oculus Home and reinstalled it which was a mega pain as all my software installed through Home now has to be redownloaded as well - ooh good system Palmer & Co.

Support got back to me really quickly with a load of files to delete and reinstall but I haven't tried it yet as I don't want to bork my working Steam version too, although I will doubtless try it shortly. I could just play it through Steam but it's messing with my OCD having something not working I can't mend!

It's a weird one.

Once you've uninstalled, try running a cleanup program like CCleaner to get rid of the unused registry entries.

It was absolutely necessary for me to run CCleaner reinstalling OSVR. Even though it should have worked, it wouldn't unless everything was cleaned.
