Meta-Alloy Demand

Is the Demand number for Meta-Alloys at a station that has been shut down by Thargoid artefact interference an accurate representation of how many is required to reverse the status?

I would guess not. The Pit in Pennsylvania was shut down for 2 weeks. During that time it had a constant demand of 8359, except for 4 days when the controlling faction was in Boom, when the demand was 11703. (This is an exactly 40% increase and consistent with that recorded at stations with an economy that has a standing meta-alloy demand)

It's just about possible that the demand is only updated weekly on the "UA tick", and all the meta-alloys needed by the station were delivered in the second week, but I would guess more likely that the demand is simply related to the population size.

We have noted that Meta Alloy demand dips briefly after deliveries of significant quantities but bounces back. It does not seem related to the shutdown status of station and appears to follow the same (or similar) mechanic as regular trade. This is a largely anecdotal view however.

My experience is that MA demand is more or less an on/off indicator that a station requires them. The number doesn't seem to correspond with how much is needed.
