Meta-Game = Benign Universe Full of Billionaire Anaconda Owners

Looking for the Dangerous in Elite Dangerous?

So what is the biggest threat in our galaxy?

Is it being AFK after a jump and crashing into a star or running out of fuel?

If a horde of Thargoids was released on our galaxy today, they'd be wiped out with impugnity because of the silly shield boosts situation.

And economically things aren't making much sense either. It is possible to get an Anaconda from scratch in just days or weeks.

The balance of the game on so many levels feels totally out of whack and needs a major re-adjustment. Unfortunately I don't see much in 2.3 that addresses these flaws.

And this imbalance in the game will have an impact on future gameplay development unless Frontier make some significant changes.

Oh God, not again...

That's easily fixed. Reset your save and commit to not using any fast money making methods. Fit your ship(s) to be however vulnerable you feel would make the game fun for you.

"Play your way" and all that.

OP - Please do as this fine man suggested, and stop pushing your "challenges" on those who do not want them.

I have an invulnerable Corvette. I like to cruising in RES killing everything in my way with its turrets and fighters. I worked really hard to achieve this. And I WILL NOT give that away just because some silly "git-gudder" thinks it's not a "proper" way to play the game.

Git Gud? Nah. Git Lost.

To be truthfull... most "billioneres" in the game are that because they used exploits to get there.

One of my CMDRs is in an Anaconda with 30 million credits. Does that make me spoiled? Don't think so.

EDIT: And I can't even start to use any of my own energy to think about how someone else got their ship and build. I just can't.

Let people play the game the way they want; exploits or not... I don't care.

Theres plenty of people playing without one of the "big three". I currently use my DBX for exploration and have a T6 for trading. I will probably save one day for a T9. The anaconda has absolutely zero appeal to me. I like my Lakon ships too much.

I see your complaints, but not a single suggestion on how to fix any of them. Not looking for any great detail, just the highlights.

Here dear friends is why Elite will continue to be watered down. The casual Steam content locust who don't want any sort of challenge because when they fail they feel bad. The sort of player who feels entitled to an I win button to the detriment of the game.
Enjoy your shield crutch for now.

Im curious does anyone here play the game without one of the big three ships?

I know I don't

Right now, I do. I'm on my second rebuild of my fleet after deliberately trashing it and my credit balance down to sidey levels. I currently fly either an AspX or a Python, but if I were at all interested in grinding I could probably have a 'conda back in a day or two. I'll probably have that 'conda again in a while, simply because I like flying one, but it's not "endgame" for me to have one. Oh, and for what it's worth I haven't touched a single credit exploit since game launch. They hold no attraction for me because I'm not daft enough to "keep score" that way.

Then you obviously don't see very well. 2.3 prevents stacking more than 3 missions at a time to prevent such high payouts.

And anyway, why do you care how much money another player has. So what if they have an Anaconda. How does that negatively impact *your* game.

What problem are you trying to fix here?

I own a cutter that I bought because why not when that CG a few months ago handed out crazy money, but I only take it out once in a blue moon because it handles like a space whale. I like my ships small and agile.
