Metallic Crystals - Purple Ones - Confirmed but not showing in Codex?

I found a flock of purple crystalline stars recently, Codex says they were first discovered by another commander. Neat, however, the codex shows the confirmed date/time/location etc, but not who confirmed it. (ie, moi....on this occassion - right after I scanned them) However, it would seem from the forum at EDSM that qute a few folk have encountered & scanned & confimred said cystalls already, but it never registered any of them on the 'confimed by' codex. Take it confirming the beasties don;t get you a credit? Just wondering....

The confirmed report will give the system and planet you found them on, but it never includes the CMDR name because that's just your "personal" confirmation that you have found them, it's not a record of the second person in the region to find them, the confirmed reports are your personal reports and not global, no-one else can see them, you do get money for finding stuff but you don't get your name in lights because hundreds of other CMDRS will also have their own "confirmed" reports or the same stuff in the same region, only the first to find them gets their name in lights!

Hi Varonica. Thanks for the confirmation - I had an idea it might be a 'local' codex rather than the 'global' codex. Still, always a good idea to get a second opinion from other CMDR's. Anyways, my encounter brightened up the local 'scenery' no-end (y'know; black, black, a few hundred tiny stars, more black and then the purple encounter!). Think this kinda thing is what sets the game apart, you never know what's gonna loom into view next, lol. Cheers ~ Imperator93-Imp
