Metallic Meteorites: Only 1 at a time now?

Like others, I've been finding them in threes, though also singly, and with varying yields of materials. I haven't noticed any difference in the rates of their appearance, so maybe sample size is a factor.

A quick survey of a few million metallic meteorites should clear things up.

I once came across a whole swathe in one area, the RNG gods were particularly kind pre-3.05. Now they appear to be as rare as hens teeth. :)

Seems the same as it was before. Just that there is no rare metals in metorites just the same as outcrops or other
things to blast and salvage on the surface with your srv.
I found only groups of 3 as before. on a high metalic world

Yes. Same.

However, there are more rocks and more evenly distributed, so I can pick up more rocks in one sitting without having to chase for 15 minutes or logging to trigger new rocks. Also, with the new inventory, just pick a planet with most of the different kinds of mats you need, and then just pick up everything you find. No need to be choosy anymore.

3 can still appear, just as groups of other asteroids and outcrops can appear in groups.
I haven't felt that they appear any less often, I would almost suggest the "rare material bearing" outcrops seem more common but I might have had a run of good luck on a HMC world.

Ive been doing a lotta planetary mining lately...albeit under the illusion I could get notoriety ddwn in under 6 hours, but alas it was not to be, and the salt was unleashed upon an unsuspecting community.

I can safely say we are having very different experiences on terra firma OP, sorry. Im still finding regular trios...a few singles too but its no different to what its always been, and there was never enough to begin with, so I half agree and half disagree and half dont know...tis a game of three halves what?

Use the trader, just collect a whole bunch of lesser materials, think of the extra fun you will have doing so.

An' before someone says it, nobody is making you look for those metal 'rites!:cool:

I've been mucking about in my SRV since 3.0 dropped and I haven't had the same experience. They're the same rarity as before but I still occasionally get a bunch of them.

I'm seeing similar bahaviour to 2.4. Normally 1 or 3 MM occasionally 2 or 4.

I feel I am finding more metallic outcrops though and they more often contain very rares - compared to 2.4

Ive defo seen them in groups of 3 as recently as a few days ago. Although im not entirely sure if it was just luck or random act but whrn i was on flat terrain i was very unlucky but when i searched a crater it was MM's a plenty .. this could be pure RNG at work though.
