Dinosaurs Microceratops

Your Feature Request / Idea
During the dev stream with Colin Trevorrow, he mentioned that he was hoping to see Microceratops (Microceratus) in the game at some point. Will that eventually become a reality?

Its a pretty small dinosaur but, it would be nice to have smaller attractions like the Microceratops and Comsognathus appear in the game.

I've already said elsewhere that critters like this should be part of some building/zone of the type of Greenhouse/Botanical Gardens. Be it as it may, it would be a nice addition, although I don't think the time for new animals has come yet.

Yeah. He asked the devs when they were playing together if the Microceratops were in the game or if they were eventually going to be added because they're his favorite.
I wouldn't want the Microceratops to be limited to a structure though because then the Sauropod Swamp from the novel wouldn't be tangible (since they were housed in the same paddock as the larger dinos).

But that would also make them much more unmanageable. I am all for having really small dinos out there but considering each one would have Ai and character, and there would much more individuals than any other species, that would suppose quite a big charge for any machine to bear, specially consoles, I guess...

Don't get me wrong, I'd rather have them wandering free than confined to greenhouses, botanical gardens and the like, but if that's not possible then that solution would be fine as long as we can have them.

They would have to rework most mechanics anyway, if they are adding flying and aquatic animals in some distant future and those both would have to be that confined too.

Something tells me if they add airbornes, their enclosure would have a transparent caged ceiling generated over them ones the perimeter is sealed.
The aquatics would probably function like the ones in Zoo Tycoon.

That doesn't solve the problem of them being really difficult to spot from a great distance when not in map mode or of they numbers (let's face it, a "pack" of 20-25 Microceraptos would be no satisfactory) generating noise and memory trashing to the overall game, though.

They'll probably have stats like the Struths and Gallis for balancing reasons.

You're right about memory concerns but I think everyone else is manageable. Little icons to spotlight them in the distance, akin to map mode, would be an ideal solution for small critters imo
