Please can we get an option to disable the games use of microphone, I understand voice access is important for accessibility, but please could be get the ability to remove the games hard coded insistence on taking full control of the microphone (and webcam). I often use external voice comms while playing games and Elite usually prevents other programs from using the microphone

There's a setting in the comms panel that allows you to turn the mic off.

I have auto enable team voice set to off.
I also have the microphone set to push-to-talk in the Miscellaneous > Microphone mute area in the ship control settings. This probably does nothing, but if I ever were to play CQC, I'd want it that way.
I have no problems with Discord. I wonder whether the other software (Teams or Zoom, I guess) is trying to monopolise the input.

I don't tend to do CQC either (especially not in those circumstances as need to be able to drop the game right away, so mostly trade/exploration) but have the same settings

Oh I ALWAYS use PTT, tbh usually on CAPSLOCK (it's a big button, right by your hand that usually doesn't do anything except make you yell in texts)ya i hates peeps who dont use push to talk with voip tbh

if stuggling to find stuff and are used to say a windows 7 enviroment i suggest you try classic shell as it has a very 7 ish look and feel about it but is still 11 at its core
