General / Off-Topic Microsoft looking to buy EA claim industry rumours

Slight kick in the teeth for all the people they laid off ~2007 when they nuked Aces Studio and their other gaming divisions, on the grounds they were no longer profitable. And all those inconvenienced by cancellation of the various games they had under development, such as their (second) attempt at MS Train Sim II.

MS should concentrate on there core business
EA is basically DICE SW Battlefron2 was pants

mobile gaming is where the growth is.

That's analysis on studio and game dev is wrong want about all the indie devs

Seems very click bait-y to me that article. Can't see that myself the article goes on later to suggest they might buy out valve and PUBG Corp...with zero evidence for any of it including buying out EA.

MS will do what they have done with nearly every game company they took over, close them.

Don't you think it's exactly what EA deserves? They are known in an industry as studio killers. Mind you, multitude of studios they've mercilessly destroyed were great studios with history of creating great cult following titles.
EA should just crash and burn.

I hope Microsoft kills off EA with a slow and painful death.
EA has killed off many of my favorite developers and I will never get over Westwood Studios.

Let us hope that Microsoft has no eye on Frontier

Well ... Microsoft certainly know about Frontier Developments, and there has been a big name backer we haven't been told about (which let's be honest, we don't need to know and it is none of our business). I'd say that IF Frontier get big enough, there is certainly a good chance Microsoft would buy them out ... and I wouldn't blame David Braben if he did sell to Microsoft.
