Microtransaction Concerns

Will this game have any microtransactions and/or DLC packs? I wouldn't mind DLC for things like more dinosaurs or game mechanics, but microtransactions would be a huge turn-off for me.

I wouldn't be opposed to being able to buy skins and Customizations, just not new buildings or dinos. Nothing that impacts gameplay should be charged for.

Yeh that has been the mantra for Elite but I guess we just don't know for JWE yet.

Microtransactions are not and never are required of anyone. To say that their mere inclusion would be a "turn off" is ridiculous. The entire game will be available through normal progress, like any game. If there are microtransactions, they are for people with more money than patience. And as such, they are a legitimate source of additional revenue.

Why people like you need to throw a blanket over over microtransactions as ineherently bad is not something myself or any other rational thinking person can understand.

Maybe I'll give you the benefit of the doubt and assume that you meant DLC only available through microtransaction, or similar. Because if you meant anything else, you're clueless.

I doubt we will see micro-transactions cause this is a single player game. We will get DLC most likely. Micro-transactions are mostly a multiplayer thing cause competition and the urge to beat opponents drives the purchases. To get the best stuff and so on to help you win against other players. In this game there is no competition. It's only you and the game.

Microtransactions destroy games. DLC is fine, but microtransactions ruin games. I'm so exited for this game. Haven't been this hyped since Fallout 4. But if it has microtransactions I won't buy it. Although I trust frontier not to add them.

Wasn't it confirmed on subreddit that there will be no microtransactions in the game?
I was searching through this forum but couldn't find anything but I'm positive I've seen a post about it somewhere.

I know they confirmed back in Marchish that there is no lootboxes

Just go back and check Frontiers history, they are very pro consumer. See Planet Coaster for example.

I don't expect any microtransactions, also they can be a legitimate form of income but don't go bashing people for being worried about them. They ruined games that should go down in history as some of the best, this is a fact. Microtransaction have a reason for the bad rep and those are as valid as the reasons why it would be a legitimate source of income.
