Middle of nowhere on way to Colonia, found ship or shipwreck?

Hey, out at Flyiedge KE-E d13-121 doing a bit of mining for FSD juice goods and ran across a shipwreck, nothing there but wreckage. But just a bit away I've got targeted a federal dropship that has active systems named Crooked Chaos piloted by Eugen Tenpenny. Don't have a manifest scanner handy but can target subsystems. Can't physically see anything at the target and can't seem to do damage to anything. Is this a bug or remnant from the wreckage or something? Can I do something with this? Could use some parts, FSD is getting a bit wonky with Neutron Star hopping on my way to Colonia. (Didn't think the trip out very well before hand and didn't bring repair limpets.) Bout 10,000 LY into my trip, halfway there.

Those wreckages and crashed beacons usually have an NPC ship somewhere near by. It's just their landing spots are more often than not bugged. I've seen them been parked on an almost vertical cliff faces, half buried in the rock or just half buried in the ground.

What happened to the USS where there was a lot of scrapped/damaged ships and usually had one sleeping anaconda hiding amomgst the wreckage which tried to surprise you and pick a fight , those were my favourite USS's to go into. I remember a few threads couple of years ago where a couple of players complained about threats in a threat level 0 and since i dont think i ever seen them again. Sad as they were good fun and you never knew just what was waiting for you in the USS.

Edit .. guess i answered the question though :)

I find crashed Nav Beacons thousands of LY from the nearest inhabited system. The planetary RNG junk generator doesn’t seem to take distance from civilization into account.

Apart from the buggy dropship that seems to masquerade as U-boat: you can't fix the FSD with repair limpets, you need an AFMU. The Fuel Rats might be willing to help you with repair limpets (but honesty, you're still at 95% hull and don't seem to have any cracks in the screen, so why bother?), but can't do anything about the AFMU.
And you might be near one of the waystations to Colonia. Check your Galmap for human civilization systems near (well, that's relative...) you.

I miss deep space Degraded Emissions USS, those used to have ship wreckages too, with occupied space pods and such, now I can't find them anymore.

I was out in the Sanguine Reach or whatever it's called a few months ago exploring and happened to be gathering mats around a steam vent on an otherwise unremarkable Icy Body when I noticed my scanner showing a man-made type signal, I tracked it down to one of those satellite core things you can scan for Encoded mats and data point money.
I sat there a while thousands of LY's from earth and wondered what had happened to this ancient sat to have ended it up on a distant world never touched, or even seen, by humans before.

Gave me little shivers.
