Not sure I'd like to listen to that in my ships and, if I did, I'd only end up being disappointed when it didn't make cynical/pessimistic comments.

As I said, I kind of don't want it because it'll be disappointing that he/it will only use the standard dialogue.
It'd be nice if they used a more diverse range of comments but I guess that'd start to tread on HCS's toes and FDev seem to be working with HCS.

COVAS is done in partnership with HCS, and HCS has had a Leo pack by the same name for ages, voiced by Norman.

It doesn't just seem to be Norman. It IS Norman.
