Discussion MIEX - RPG overlay with custom missions

MIEX is 3rd party tool which uses player journal to hookup game events and makes different overlays (visual and audio) like:
  • mission tasks and mission window (text tips, journal)
  • npc messages and dialogue windows
  • mini games
  • mission tasks and mission window
  • viseo cutscenes
  • items and discriptions of it

Most of content is JSON coded files, so community can make own missions, stories etc. Programm will be opensource and freeware.

But when i asked local community about testing, many peoples says about illegality of that type of software. Or that soft violates property rights of Frontiers.

Please, can enyone told me is that type of programm illegal to use or develop?

Add some screeshots, maybe that can better explane what MIEX can do.

If your data is being sourced from the player journal, you are not using any of Frontier Development's proprietary data (copyrights, trademarks, etc.), and you make clear that the software is not affiliated with or approved by Frontier then I don't see any reason why it would be considered illegal.

There is a Discord for 3rd party developers of tools for Elite Dangerous at https://discord.gg/zQjjutY that you might find useful. :)
