Might want to retcon the latest GalNet article (as of the time of this post)

Yeah after 1000 years you'd have a very toxic paperweight and not much else. One thing that is often overlooked/misunderstood about nuclear bombs (Hollywood deserves a lot of blame for this) is that nukes are detonated by a controlled explosion directed at the nuclear matter, any defect within this triggering mechanism and all you get is a small (relatively anyway) explosion and a scattering of the nuclear matter, a far cry from the blast of a controlled nuclear detonation.

Article says it's a uranium core.

By 2045 they may be using very different explosives, ones that are far more stable.
Also, there's a small possibility that the bomb uses helium-3, which isn't radioactive at all.

Even if this is all wrong. News media seldom get their facts correct. It makes a far better story that the bomb was active and was diffused. This is the Feds we are taking about.

Forget the technicalities, who thought it would be a good idea right now to post an article claiming that the 'merkins would come unscathed out of a global nuclear war?

Why would an article relate a news about Earth?

Forget about space legs--- ATMOSPHERIC LEGS CONFIRMED! OMG!
