Military Ranks and Power Play

When the game launched the military ranks were bugged and for the most part unobtainable. Then the entry missions were too difficult to accomplish. Then the missions were popping up from every nook and cranny allowing dedicated players to rank up from zero to hero in a matter of hours. After some more fiddling and tweaking from FDev we currently have an additional assassination mission added to nonsensical fetch quests while the missions themselves are hard to get, mostly due to RNG aka a poor man's difficulty curve.
What I'm getting at is this: there has been some minor improvements in the faulty military missions module, but I think all franchise veterans will agree that FFE or even Elite 2 had better implementation of this mechanic (and let's be honest even if ED's missions were on par they would still be considered lackluster and grindy in the world of today).

Powerplay is coming, and since so far no one even mentioned military missions (or at least I don't recall any official words on the matter) I think it's safe to assume there won't be any improvement for them in the upcoming 1.3 feature patch.
Which finally brings me to my question: does anyone have any information if overhauling military missions is at all on FDev's radar, and if the state military career is at least a concern of medium priority for devs, or what their general idea is of how this module should look like in it's ideal iteration? I guess what I'm asking for is any substantial information..

My Algae founded Barony was not without memorable moments, far be it from it. But there was a certain Lady of the Lake missing from the rather aquatic ceremony. To elevate this matter after 1.3 would be prudent! The system is in a state of not being much of a system!

I can definitely relate. For me, there was nothing more fulfilling then delivering a much needed relief of hot dogs and hamburgers to a starving military garrison based on a major agricultural world. Who needs a home cooked meal when there's artificially colored and flavored plastics to be had.

Military missions are just like normal missions. Why wouldn't a revamp of missions in 1.3 include them?
Unless I'm mistaken, the mission revamp is dedicated to the Power Play update itself, which will (again from my understanding) be a mixture of community goals and a strategic board game. There was nothing mentioned about military rankings and revamping the current "dock, hope for a fetch quest, rank up" system.

They said there would be faction ranks as well as military ranks, seems redundant to have 2 different mission systems that do ranks? They also said that you would now be able to track targets through SC. Why would you only limit that to the old mission system? For that matter, why have 2 different mission systems?

There is a complete mission overhaul which supplements not dedicated to the power play. This was in a newsletter.
