military settlement

hi all a attack a military settlement. i took out the guards put the ships above started firing when i got 450 meters away in my SRV. do i need to take them out cos if i call my ship they will take it out too. any ideas please thanks

Doubtful you'd do any appreciable damage.
If you drive evasively using terrain to cover you they should give up at 7.5-8km once they're no longer in scanner range it should be safe to recall your ship.

Personally I find it easier to use a decent combat ship to drop off in- something like an FdL or Mamba so the shield can take a beating but still be small enough to land easily near the settlement. If you mess up or it's a mission to steal a power regulator, you want to know you have options to get out.

Doesn't help you if you're in that situation, but yeah, driving as fast as to get away from any persuing ships is about your only option.

If it's mission and you're tipped off, then the best way is to use Apex Taxi. But many times I attacked large military, high sec settlements, anarchy (non-player) faction without mission,
just to collect materials and data and to test my skills and weapons.
