Engineers Military Superconductors and Military Grade Alloys - which system to find?

Hi guys,

perhaps this thread could help. It is really tricky to find some stuff, as you need to be at the right time (state) at the right place (system).

So for Military Superconductors or Military Grade Alloys you get the them in systems where the controlling faction is at war. As a war state in the galaxy map is not the most accurate indication to find the right system. Because you first need to get lucky to find a war, then get even luckier so that this war is with the controlling faction, and THEN you need to get looking for degraded emissions to have a chance at finding them.

So if anybody stumble over such system for military advanced components (Military Superconductor, Military Grade Alloys) - everybody would be grateful, if you would post it here.

Thanks,
Oogie Boogie

Anarchy in War. Ive found few at these. Of course Control fraction must be in war.

I've given up acquiring military supercapacitors from USSs because finding a system where the controlling faction is at war is actually like finding a needle in a galactic haystack. Galmap war filter, bwhahahaha!

All my supercapacitor needs are met via missions. Most successful in high population anarchy federation aligned systems in boom.

What works for me is to head for a system which is both Anarchy and at war. The controlling faction/s which control the station/s in the system are at war too. Once located, arrive and head away from the main star for 200,000 ls or more if you prefer. Ignore everything you discover on the way out as there will be plenty to collect on the way back. Once you hit 200,000 ls or more if you prefer, turn around and head back towards the star. What worked for me at this stage though is to set your throttle to about 3 pips. If you don't, you'll got lots of USS messages but no actual USS appearing. The message simply appears and then disappears with nothing in your navigation panel. This I assume is because at anything over 3 pips or thereabouts, is simply travelling too fast and so the USS is actually bypassed at speed. I found that between 200,000 ls and 100,000 ls I was getting numerous High Grade Emissions with 12 -15 Military Grade Alloys or Military Super Capacitors in each discovery. I also discovered numerous Encoded and Degraded Emissions along the way too. Between 100,00 ls and the star though, I did not discover any High Grade Emissions, so make of that what you will. So in summary, for the whole meander back to the main star from 200,00 ls, I collected 24 Military Grade Alloys, 24 Military Super-Capacitors and numerous other useful materials essential for engineering upgrades. Far more relaxing that twatting around in Debris Fields, CZ's and other random and frustrating exercises in futility..Good luck CMDR's

Thank you!

Thank you! It worked just as you stated. I drifted out 400K Ls, but started really getting action within the 200K to 100K. 21 Military Supercon. [up]

You are a scholar and a gentlemen. Ok now write this same thing down but for how to get Proto-Radiolic Whosits, and Proto Heat Whatsits, and Thermic Alloy wouldn't hurt [big grin]

Excellent post! There is deep science on USSs, and the relation between Your speed and theirs (somewhere deep on reddit). Nothing to add to above mentioned post, I keep my speed in the middle to lower part of the blue speed zone.

Edit: Your ship will auto-break when targeting USSs, because deep science.

Thanks for this! This works very well, but I'm not sure what you mean by keeping your throttle at 3 pips. Engine pips do not impact supercruise speed. I find keeping my speed around 50.0c prevents the disappearing USS issue you mentioned and gives me enough time to select and target it.

This works well for any material/data that appears in Encoded or High Grade USS. I followed the same steps in an Outbreak system and found a High Grade USS with 12 Pharmaceutical Isolators pretty quickly. I'd imagine the same approach would work for Proto Heat Radiators, Refined Focus Crystals, etc. as long as you're in the correct system type.
