Mine launchers could be so much more.

The mine launcher module is so under developed but could potentially be the most tactical weapon in the game! Opening up important roles for payer in team combat. They could change the dynamic of every battle, giving a different feeling to every encounter, and hears how:

Scrambler Mine: within a small range around the mine, say 1K -2K, the mine scrabbles enemy/hostile radar, causing a chaff effect to aim tracking.

Tractor Mine: Uses a beam which attaches to an enemy/hostile for a short burst, slowing them down and reducing movement while attached

Point defense/turret: a limited ammo mine that shoot down incoming missiles and limpets.

Decoy Mine: When dropped, all hostile targeted on you get retargeted to the mine, maybe the mine also chaff so it not blown up instantly. The decoy also would appear as a hostile on the enemies radar.

Repair mine: This is a Maybe. The mine has a limited repair ammo/time and is very short range. You drop it, get within say 1K and it sends out a beam that start to repair the hull. Not really practical for battle, but long distance explorer that tends to hit the wrong FSD function and fall out of cruise to fast (waves), may find it useful.

Signal Mines: Probably have no effect on NPC but could be useful for tactics and Community driven events. These are not bacons, more like a flare that would hang around like a ejected heatsink. So what will it do? Allow the colour it will glow to be selected (maybe in functions) and a team could then use them as fast reference visual signals. for example a blue one may mean, 'Cover me' or 'im panicking, help' and a white one may mean, 'need to refuel', what they mean would be up to the team at the time. And with the magic of the community, I,m sure they would make all sorts of games using them :)

Cyber Mine/Limpet: Not really a mine, so not for mine launcher but wanted to voice the idea. A limpet that infects the enemies system, take them off line for a short time (all HUD goes down )
 
Like them all except for the point defence and repair variants. We already have pd turrets and repair limpets. Also, you'd be flying away so would be out of range in no time.
