Do mines have a 1 second delay or 5 second delay? Wikia lists 1 but right it was super-nerfed years ago.
Will they explode before the delay and just deal less damage and if so will the experimental effects trigger, or do they just not explode at all?

I'm assuming they are still pretty useless but haven't tried them in a while and need to go grind some materials before i can engineer anything else.

They tended to cause friendly explosions when mounted on the front of big ships. So fdev changed the timer. Offcourse this was sort of a workaround... They then made the delay less worse as it becase impossible to hit ships that were on your tail. If I remember correctly.

The delay has nothing to do with the experimental effect. And mines also work when you have not engineered them.. So no need to grind.
