I've been trying to make my mining a bit more varied by choosing different minerals to go after. The trouble is, when I find a suitable hotspot, it appears to be devoid of said mineral. Tonight I found quite a nicely overlapping Rhodplumsite double hotspot, but I've not seen a grain of it there. There's Coltan, Lepidolite, Bertrandite, Gallite, etc etc and I've had 2 Platinum cores, and 1 Serendibite core - just none of what I'm looking for - Rhodplumsite. I'd noticed this before, with Monazite, Benitoite etc but because in the past I generally went for Low Temp Diamonds and Void Opals (which seem to appear as expected) it hadn't really made much of an impression.
Is this a known issue?
Is there somewhere I can read up on the various minerals and how they are distributed within asteroids. Like LTD's can be core, subsurface, or surface deposits, but Void Opals are only cores, right?
Thanks for any advice.
